Happy New Year! I sincerely hope everyone in the Morayfield community had a safe, joyful festive season filled with time spent with family and friends—and maybe even enjoyed cheering on our incredible Aussie cricketers!
With the start of the 2025 school year upon us, I want to extend my best wishes to all students, parents, and school staff for a successful year ahead. As a dad of young kids, I know many local parents are breathing a sigh of relief as routines return. And to the mums and dads sending their little ones off to prep for the very first time—what a special milestone. I know it’s both emotional and exciting, and I wish your little learners all the best on their journey.
This time of year is also a crucial moment to remind everyone about road safety. We know from experience that the holiday season can sadly bring heartache on our roads. Please remember—road safety is everyone’s responsibility. Drive to the conditions, never mix alcohol or drugs with driving, obey speed limits, and above all: if it’s flooded, forget it.
On a lighter note, I’m excited to kick off the year with my first Small Business Coffee Catch Up for 2025. It’s a great way for local business operators to network and share ideas. If you’re a small business owner in our region, I warmly invite you to join me:
