Local residents have a great opportunity to spread the Christmas spirit and bring a smile to a child in care by participating in this year’s Kids in Care Christmas gift drive.
State Member for Morayfield, Mark Ryan MP, has joined with Bargain Central, Morayfield Shopping Centre Management, Acumen Building Projects and the Caboolture Sports Club to donate over $4,000 worth of toys to the Appeal.
“There are more than 1,300 children in the North Coast region who are unable to live with their own families this Christmas, and we want to make sure we have enough presents for everyone,” Mr Ryan said.
“So we’re asking people to show their support and buy an extra gift when doing their Christmas shopping so that kids in care can have a Merry Christmas as well.”
Owner of the Bargain Central stores, Minesh Patel said that it’s an honour to be part of this community appeal.
“Christmas is a special time of the year and certainly, children are a big part of the magic of the season. The smiles on their faces will be the most rewarding gift for us. We are pleased to be part of this wonderful cause.”
Acumen Building Projects spokesperson, Anna Hinze, said that the company was happy to support the Kids in Care Christmas Gift Drive.
“Christmas is about giving – we just want to make this Christmas a little brighter for the kids,” Ms Hinze said.
Sports Manager of the Caboolture Sports Club, Tony Clarke, said that the Sports Club was excited to once again be supporting the Kids in Care appeal.
“This is an incredibly worthwhile cause and we’re pleased to once again be supporting the appeal by donating toys for kids in care in our community,” Mr Clarke said.
“We’re encouraging locals to get behind the appeal as well and make a donation that will bring a smile to local kids in care this Christmas.”
Donations can be delivered to the Office of Mark Ryan MP (67 Morayfield Road, Caboolture South) or made online at www.givit.org.au.
