New online resource to help organisations meet Blue Card requirements

25 June 2015

Organisations across Morayfield State Electorate will now have a new, online tool to assist them to meet their requirement to provide a safe environment for local kids.

State Member for Morayfield, Mark Ryan MP, said a new, online video learning portal launched by the Queensland Government was designed to provide easy access to important information about the Blue Card process.

“Whether children are going off to day care or to soccer training, parents have an expectation that their kids will be safe - and I share that expectation,” Mr Ryan said.

“This online learning portal means organisations will have instant access to a range easy-to-understand information about the best way to manage the risks of harm to children.

“It’s important to remember that regulated organisations must legally have a strategy which outlines policies and procedures for dealing with children – so this resource will go a long way to ensuring this kind of important information is easily accessible.

“This is just one way the Queensland Government is helping community organisations meet their legal requirements in a timely, hassle free way.”

More than two million blue cards have been issued since 2001 and more than 600,000 blue card holders and applicants are monitored on a daily basis to check their eligibility to work with children.
