Fresh ideas. New initiatives. Novel approaches. All are needed in the constant struggle against the ever-increasing cost of living.
State Member for Morayfield, Mark Ryan MP, wants to hear locals’ ideas, initiatives and strategies at his first Cost of Living Forum.
Mr Ryan said that the concept is for local people to come together and work towards some meaningful, practical solutions to cost of living pressures.
“There are a lot of people struggling to make ends meet in our community and Government certainly doesn’t have a monopoly on good ideas,” Mr Ryan said.
“I want to hear ideas and suggestions from local people on how we can better deal with growing cost of living.
“This forum is not about pointing fingers of blame; it’s about putting our heads together and coming up with real strategies to address what is a very real concern for locals struggling to pay their bills.
The first forum will look at energy prices and will feature consumer advocate Mike Swanston as guest speaker.
Mr Swanston has over thirty years of experience in the electricity industry and for the past ten years has worked in advocacy for energy customers.
The first Cost of Living Forum will be held on Thursday 27 August 2015 at 6:30pm in the Sports Hall at Grant Road Sports Complex. Please RSVP to [email protected] or by calling 07 5343 5100.
