The 2018-19 State Budget delivers on the Palaszczuk Government’s election commitments and invests in the local economy.
Local health services will be supported, with funding allocated to start construction on a larger Emergency Department at the Caboolture Hospital.
In addition, funding has been provided to commence preparatory works for the major redevelopment of the Hospital - as promised at the 2017 State Election.
The Palaszczuk Government State Budget includes $11.7 million to continue construction on a new replacement police station and district headquarters for the Caboolture region, as promised at the 2017 State Election, with additional funding provided to advance the planning for the upgrade of the existing Caboolture Watch house.
Furthermore, $9 million out of a total project cost of $22 million has been set aside in 2018-19 to deliver on the Palaszczuk Government’s 2017 election commitment to upgrade Morayfield Train Station.
Major projects - transport/roads
$980,000 to start construction of the Morayfield Bus Station upgrade at a total cost of $6.1 million
$8 million to commence high risk road route safety intersection upgrades on Morayfield Road and Beerburrum Road at a total cost $28.8 million
$5 million to continue the design work for the widening of the Bruce Highway (Brisbane - Gympie)
$4 million out of a $150 million total spend to commence the upgrade on the Deception Bay Road - New Settlement Road highway overpass bridge
Major projects - education
$3.6 million out of a $20.7 million to construct a new special school in Caboolture
$1.7 million of $9.9 million for Caboolture State High School to commence building of five new learning areas and seven specialist teaching areas/rooms
$500,000 to reconfigure nursing practical spaces to include collaborative learning spaces, observation rooms and viewing laboratories at the Caboolture training campus
$250,000 for Morayfield State High School to refurbish Multi-Purpose Hall
$250,000 for Minimbah State School to refurbish Block I classrooms
$250,000 for Burpengary Meadows State School to upgrade Special Education Program
$150,000 for Caboolture State School to refurbish Block 11 & 13
$150,000 for Caboolture Special School to refurbish Resource Centre
Major projects - housing
$1.75 million to construct an additional six units of accommodation in the region
Since the 2015 election, the Palaszczuk Government has improved frontline health and education services in the Caboolture region by employing more doctors, nurses, teachers and teacher aides.
