Mark Ryan will hold his next Small Business Network Coffee Catch-Up alongside special guest, Minister for Employment and Small Business, Shannon Fentiman.
The early morning networking event will take place on Wednesday 2 October, between 7am and 8:30am at Caboolture’s Centenary Lakes Function Centre.
Mark Ryan said that Minister Fentiman will outline the Palaszczuk Government’s ground-breaking new free apprenticeships program for young people under 21 years-of-age.
“This government is about jobs, jobs, jobs and jobs,” he said.
“Up until now businesses have worn the cost of training an apprentice.
“We’ve now removed this expense to enable businesses to take on more apprentices and trainees.
“This is a $32 million investment from the State Government, backing small businesses and young job seekers.
“And the focus is not just on apprenticeships, it’s equally on traineeships in sectors with a growing need for workers – sectors such as healthcare, hospitality and aged care.
“Combined with our free TAFE for year 12 graduates and our Back to Work program for people who’ve been unemployed for 12 months or more, the free apprenticeships program is set to have a huge impact on getting our young people into jobs.
“Local business people can hear about these exciting programs directly from Minister Fentiman, over a friendly coffee at Centenary Lakes on October the 2nd.”
