Local small businesses encouraged to nominate for advisory council

09 June 2015

State Member for Morayfield, Mark Ryan MP, today urged local small business owners and operators to nominate for the Queensland Small Business Advisory Council.

Mr Ryan said the advisory council would provide advice to the state government on small businesses growth, sustainability and employment.

“The Queensland Government is determined to give small businesses a greater say,” he said.

“The Small Business Advisory Council will create a direct line of communication between small business and government.

“I encourage local small business operators – particularly those that are innovative and entrepreneurial – to nominate for the Queensland Small Business Advisory Council.”

Mr Ryan said the advisory council would support the Queensland Government’s commitment to create jobs and grow the Queensland economy.

“Small businesses are a key driver of employment and economic activity for our community,” he said.

“With half of all private sector jobs in small business, stimulating growth in small business is critical to jobs for Queenslanders.”
