The Palaszczuk Government has called on eligible Queensland companies to tender for government office fit out works for a new Child Safety Service Centre in Morayfield.

Minister for Child Safety Shannon Fentiman said the tender was proof the Palaszczuk Government is putting its money where its mouth is on Child Safety.

“This investment demonstrates that our Government is putting the bricks and mortar in to back up the massive lift in new frontline and frontline support Child Safety staff.”

“Our amazing staff are out there saving lives each and every day and we are determined to give them the tools and facilities they need to do their jobs.”

“We have already increased frontline staff by 129 this financial year, and last week’s State Budget will deliver almost 300 more, including more than 200 in the next financial year.”

“This new office will house some of those staff, and will take the pressure off the tireless workers who have already been making such a difference in children’s lives.”

State Member for Morayfield Mark Ryan encouraged local businesses to put their hand up to be part of the work, which would involve fitting out an existing building in Morayfield.

“I want to make sure that our local businesses have every chance to be part of government led construction and maintenance works,” Mr Ryan said.

“The project will include fitting out an existing building in Morayfield to provide work areas and meeting rooms, and family friendly spaces for interactions with Child Safety.

“Works will involve installing office partitions and workstations, constructing meeting rooms and laying new flooring.”

Minister for Housing and Public Works Mick de Brenni said the project was another example of the Palaszczuk Government delivering on its commitments to jobs and frontline services.

“This project involves significant refurbishment works, and will support jobs for workers in a range of trades,” Mr de Brenni said.

"This is great for our local tradies and their families. I strongly encourage every eligible local business to get a tender in for this opportunity.”
