Community organisations in the Caboolture region are being encouraged to apply for a grant under the Celebrating Multicultural Queensland program.

The popular program, worth $6 million over three years, includes $1.4 million to fund multicultural events held within 2019.

State Member for Morayfield Mark Ryan is encouraging organisations to get their applications in now to share in a slice of the funding.

“Applications are now open for Celebrating Multicultural Queensland event grants in 2019,” Mr Ryan said.

“If you’re holding an eligible multicultural event in 2019, you could be in line for a grant of up to $20,000 through this great program.

“Celebrating Multicultural Queensland funds a wide range of celebrations of cultural diversity, so why not put in your bid?

“The Caboolture region has a vibrant multicultural identity, and I really encourage the local community to celebrate that diversity through this great program.”

Minister for Multicultural Affairs Stirling Hinchliffe said the Palaszczuk Government is proud of its commitment to multiculturalism and the benefits diversity brings to Queensland.

“Our diversity is one of our greatest strengths and we want to see this diversity showcased and reflected in all parts of our state,” Mr Hinchliffe said.

“The Celebrating Multicultural Queensland program is always popular, funding both events and projects.

“In 2018 alone, it has supported more than 110 events and 19 projects across the state, to be delivered in this financial year.”

Funding of up to $20,000 is available for approved events to be delivered within 2019. Applications close 14 September 2018.
