The Queensland Government’s Get in the Game initiative is in the midst of a funding surge with Get Started Vouchers close to wrapping up and Get Going Clubs and Get Playing Places and Spaces opening for applications this week.
State Member for Morayfield, Mark Ryan MP, said that the opening up of the latest round was a great opportunity for local sport and recreation groups to secure some much-needed funding.
“This is a great program that provides real benefits for the community and I encourage local sport and recreation clubs to apply for Get Going Clubs and Get Playing Places and Spaces funding with round four of both programs opening this week,” Mr Ryan said.
“Over the next three years, the Queensland Government is injecting $10.5 million into the Get Going Clubs program and $33 million towards the Get Playing Places and Spaces program.”
Get Going Clubs provides funding of up to $7,500 to help clubs provide participation opportunities in the community, while Get Playing Places and Spaces provides funding of up to $100,000 for developing new or upgraded sport and recreation infrastructure.
An information session on available grants will be held on Monday 10 August 2015 at 6:00pm at the Sports Hall, Grant Road Sports Complex. Local sport and recreation clubs are invited to attend and learn about the Get in the Game grants on offer.
“This is a great opportunity for local clubs to learn about the funding available to them and also network with other clubs in the area,” Mr Ryan said.
