Work starts next month on a $6 million project to rehabilitate and resurface sections of the D'Aguilar Highway between Caboolture and Bracalba.

The work will take place along four sections, on both sides of the highway.

State Member for Morayfield Mark Ryan said the works were part of the Palaszczuk Government's commitment to maintaining and upgrading key transport routes linking the communities of Caboolture, Wamuran, Woodford and Kilcoy.
 
“A short section near the bridge over Old Gympie Road will be rehabilitated, while another eight-kilometre section will be resurfaced across three sites between Caboolture and Bracalba,” Mr Ryan said.

“This project will reduce ongoing maintenance costs and improve driving conditions for more than 13,000 motorists who use these sections daily.”

Mr Ryan said the 10-week D’Aguilar Highway works were just one on a series of major road upgrades being delivered in the Caboolture region and surrounding communities.

“Work has started to add northbound and southbound lanes on the Bruce Highway between the Bribie Island Road exit and Steve Irwin Way, while work also started last month on the latest safety improvements being delivered under the $28.8 million Morayfield Road and Beerburrum Road Route Safety Project.

“Our government has backed record investments in roads and transport projects to support growing regions across Queensland, and our region definitely fits that bill.”

Mr Ryan thanked motorists and the local community in advance for their patience and cooperation during the works.

Works will be carried out at night, from 6pm to 6am Sunday to Thursday each week, and are expected take about 10 weeks, weather and construction conditions permitting. Weekend work may be required on occasion.

Single-lane closures, traffic controllers, reduced speed limits and road signs will be in place during the works to ensure road worker and motorist safety. 

As part of these works the westbound on-ramp will be closed for up to three nights, weather and construction conditions permitting. Detours will be required and signage will be in place to advise motorists.
