It’s confirmed! Queenslanders will go to the polls after Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk called an election for Saturday 25 November.
State Member for Morayfield Mark Ryan welcomed the announcement of the election and said he was eager to put his record of delivering for our community to the people of the Morayfield State Electorate.
“People in our community have an important decision to make at this election,” Mr Ryan said.
“We can either go back to the cuts of the LNP, which inflicted a lot of pain on our community, or continue with the proven leadership and ability to get things done that I’ve provided as the State Member for Morayfield.
“I have the experience, I know how to deliver for our community. After all, I’m on your side.”
Mr Ryan said that he was proud of the local achievements that he has delivered as part of the Palaszczuk Labor Government and he was determined to continue fighting for the community.
“Here in the Caboolture region, Labor has delivered better schools, improved health and hospital services, safer roads, and more community support services,” he said.
“We’ve restored frontline services and invested in health and education.
“We’ve employed more doctors, more nurses, and more support staff at the Caboolture Hospital.
“We’ve started the upgrade of our hospital with a new 32 bed ward, 355 extra carparks, a new outpatients facility and a planned Emergency Department upgrade.
“97 extra local teachers and teacher aides are teaching our kids and they’re doing that in the new classrooms and school facilities built over the last three years.
“On the economic front, our employment programs and investment in creating economic opportunities have supported the creation of hundreds of local jobs and a lower unemployment rate since the LNP was last in power.
“At the last election, Annastacia Palaszczuk and Labor promised to stop the cuts, stop the sell-off of our most profitable public assets, and begin building Queensland jobs again.
“Since coming to office, Labor has delivered. We’ve stopped the cuts, kept our public assets in public hands and the Queensland economy is beginning to recover from the Newman-Nicholls record of cuts.”
