The Palaszczuk Labor Government has delivered a major education funding boost for the Morayfield electorate in its 2018-19 Queensland State Budget.
State Member for Morayfield Mark Ryan announced that the State Budget would support a range of new building and refurbishment projects at local schools.
“One of the most important issues for the people of our area is the education of our kids,” Mr Ryan said.
“I’ve consistently delivered that message to Premier Palaszczuk, who has responded by providing even more funding for our local schools in this year’s State Budget.
“The highlight of these projects will be the commencement of construction of an additional special school in the Caboolture region.
“The growing demand for specialised education has seen our existing special school expand to capacity.
“$4 million has been allocated to start the construction of the brand new special school, which will greatly expand the capacity of education in our area.”
Mr Ryan said that almost $10 million would be spent at Caboolture State High, as part of the State Government’s $250 million ‘2020 Ready’ program.
“This funding will support the construction of a new two storey secondary learning centre, with extra classrooms, two science labs, three design studios and a senior kitchen.”
