Caboolture Neighbourhood Centre Working in Comfort thanks to Queensland Government Grant

06 April 2018

State Member for Morayfield Mark Ryan today joined staff at the Caboolture Neighbourhood Centre for the roll out of a new fleet of office chairs, thanks to the Queensland Government.

The Caboolture Neighbourhood Centre received a grant of $3,468 from the State Government’s Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF).

The Gambling Community Benefit Fund provides one-off grants to Queensland not-for-profit community organisations, with revenues sourced from gaming taxes.

`Mr Ryan, said it was an honour to see the hard working staff and volunteers at the Neighbourhood Centre having a little extra comfort in their days.

“The staff and volunteers at the Neighbourhood Centre work tirelessly for our community,” he said.

“If we can make their work just that little bit easier with the help of a comfortable chair, then it’s a win all around.”

The new chairs come as a great relief to Neighbourhood Centre staff, replacing the old furniture that had served them well for many years.

“My back is very, very grateful for the new chairs,” said the Neighbourhood Centre’s Jenni Beecroft.

Information on how to apply to the GCBF is available at: www.justice.qld.gov.au/grants. The next round of grants (round 97) opens in mid-April and closes 31 May, 2018.
