Caboolture Hospital continues growing with the community

Caboolture residents can be confident their local hospital is keeping pace with the community with new infrastructure services and increasing access to specialist care.

Local MPs Mark Ryan and Rick Williams visited Caboolture Hospital today to inspect progress on the new $5 million car park and specialist outpatient building currently under construction.

State Member for Morayfield Mark Ryan said the 300 space car park and specialist outpatient building will enable our hard-working staff to care for more patients.

“This area is right in the middle of a growth corridor, so it’s important that we keep pace with patient demand and these new projects will help us to meet and exceed community expectations,” Mr Ryan said.

“That’s why the Palaszczuk Government has put a priority on getting this extra car parking in place and has committed funds to advance a major upgrade and redevelopment of the Hospital, including an expansion of the Emergency Department.”

State Member for Pumicestone Rick Williams said that the new, car park and new access road was on track to open in early December.

“This will mean the hospital will increase the car park to 1,000 spaces, improving accessibility for both patients and staff while greatly reducing congestion in surrounding streets,” Mr Williams said.

“The all-weather access road to the new car park from Mewett Street, off the roundabout with Morningview Drive, is also progressing well and expected to open in early January.”

Caboolture Hospital Executive Director Dr Lance Le Ray said the new $7.25 million Specialist Outpatient Services building on the eastern side of the hospital was also on target to open early next year.

“The specialist outpatient buildings will include 30 consultation rooms, which will mean we can see more patients and have more specialists delivering about 70,000 adult, children and antenatal appointments each year,” he said.

“The new building will also have an additional 55 car park spaces for specialist outpatient patients, further easing the current car parking constraints.

“It’s an exciting time as we continue to build a better hospital for the Caboolture community.

“I thank people for their patience over the past few months while these important upgrades have been underway.
