Burpengary State School students are now benefiting from new flashing school zone lights.
State Member for Morayfield, Mark Ryan MP, said the lights were installed on Station Road last week.
“Bright, orange flashing lights will tell drivers to slow down during critical times before and after school,” Mr Ryan said.
“This could save a young life or prevent someone from being injured.”
Mr Ryan said the Queensland Labor Government was delivering flashing lights for the most at-risk schools across Queensland.
“From day one of this term, I have been onto the Minister for more enhanced school zone signs to be rolled out across our local area.
“Following the State Election, I was keen to see certain projects proceed in our area,” Mr Ryan said.
“Top of my list was flashing school zone signs for those local schools that hadn’t yet received them.
“I’m very pleased that Burpengary State School will now benefit from these signs.”
